Kostiuk Family Foundation founded by Gene Kostiuk
The Kostiuk Family Foundation was established to continue the awareness and support of ALS, Lou Gerig's disease. Gene Kostiuk was a successfull businessman with UPS and retired after a long career of 30 years. Gene was an avid tennis player and long time member of the Olde Towne Athletic Club. He began noticing changes in his gait and had problems with his foot in late 2013. After a series a tests at Emory University Hospital he was diagnosed with ALS, Lou Gerig's disease in May 2014. The disease has a life expectancy of 2 to 5 years. Luckily Gene is slowly progressing however, can no longer walk, feed and dress himself and requires 24 care giving. Gene passed away July 7, 2019. The Kostiuk Family Foundation, spearheaded by wife Jeannie and Gabrielle (his daughter) will continue to support ALS warriors as Gene would have wanted us to. The board of KFF also includes Gene's son Christopher and his two children Gabrielle Severn and Bret Kostiuk.
